We just earned the AWS AI Competency. Not because we chased a badge. Because we shipped.
In this post we tell you what we got, what it took, and what it unlocks for our clients.
What the Competency actually is
The AWS AI Competency is one of AWS's hardest-to-earn partner specializations. To get it, you have to pass a deep technical audit by AWS Solution Architects, prove production deployments of GenAI on AWS, and show measurable customer outcomes. Not slideware. The Competency is held by less than 5% of AWS partners globally.
What sits behind it
A few of the production GenAI projects we put forward:
- CEE Travel AI. A conversational hotel discovery platform across 18,000+ properties. Multi-model Bedrock strategy, OpenSearch hybrid RAG, Step Functions pipeline. 85% reduction in time-to-shortlist. Live on the Chrome Web Store.
- Inquisita.AI. An AI-powered legal discovery response platform on Bedrock Agents, in production across multiple US states at $5K MRR. Hybrid RAG, automatic objection suggestions, human-in-the-loop review.
- Upsail. An AI-native maritime charter marketplace. Bedrock AgentCore + 11 Lambda functions + OpenSearch. Booking time from hours to minutes. ChatGPT-native via MCP server.
All built on AWS. All in production. All anchored in real outcomes.
What this changes for our clients
The Competency unlocks specific funding and benefits we can now route to clients:
- GenAI Prod-Ready Funding. Up to $100K per opportunity to take a GenAI project from validated PoC to production launch on AWS.
- GenAI Innovation Center funding. For both PoC and production phases of GenAI engagements.
- Exception funding and pilot initiatives (e.g. RAPID) for the right opportunities.
For most of our clients, this means a real GenAI project on AWS now costs a lot less than they think.
The bar AWS sets for this Competency (production deployments, audited architectures, measurable customer outcomes) is the bar we hold ourselves to.
If you're scoping a GenAI project on AWS and want to know which funding programs you qualify for, we can usually answer that on a 30-minute call.
